The Cut Off, and The Electric Looming
Unsatisfied gloam the venom whispered:
I heard laughing and wavering tongues
The spirited moonlight and the dancing dogs
What skipped past in this blue mist?
A twittering in motionless time:
Fractured and stained you who wander
In this glassy rain
Remember her face in the jar
The cawing of man with amber limbs:
Feed the open effigy burning prismatic flames
O’er the horizonless mire
And speak to me again through the shroud
Departing breaths in shade of fever:
Filled fortune awaiting the train
Or the dance adrift the unborn mile
Wherever they are their murmurs in ears
Dancer disappears before serpent’s shadow:
The memory of certain steps
Trapped under weight of echoing
A crack in blue mist and the croak of a frog
The electric in bloom over -
