An Ode to Dance and to Paper

A changeling child

A hollow mile

Centuries pass before succumbing to a smile

The flea-bitten lips

Endure the whitening drip

A line etched in two

A line carved in your breath

The signature stained in lime

The drawing of rich flavours

Tattooed in the heart of a text

Frozen shut under the eternal

Pelting of hale.

A last child on my breast

Atop this straw I lay my head

These vellum knees,

The philosophy of forgetting bent backwards

And pulled out of the ear

The ripples of alabaster waves

Hide behind my ankles

After you dropped a leaden-ball

In the middle of a lake
